Eurovision 2027 Is Coming to Burgas and Sunny Beach

Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast is about to take centre stage: Burgas has officially been chosen to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2027.

The news is also a major win for Sunny Beach, Nessebar and the entire region, which could welcome thousands of Eurovision fans before the traditional summer season begins.

The two semi-finals will take place on 11 and 13 May, followed by the Eurovision Grand Final on 15 May 2027.

Four Bulgarian cities competed to host the contest: Burgas, Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna. Burgas and Sofia reached the final round before the international selection committee chose the Black Sea city.

The committee included representatives of Bulgarian National Television, the European Broadcasting Union and professionals with experience working on Eurovision over the past 15 years.

The selection process examined the proposed venues, technical capabilities and compliance with Eurovision’s demanding production standards. BNT Director General Milena Milotinova announced the winner at a briefing attended by Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov.

How Bulgaria made Eurovision history

Bulgaria earned the right to host Eurovision 2027 after DARA won the 2026 contest with “Bangaranga”.

It was the country’s first Eurovision victory. DARA collected 516 points and was the favourite of both the national juries and viewers.

Her historic win will now bring competing artists, international media, national delegations and thousands of music fans to Bulgaria’s southern Black Sea coast.

A big moment for Sunny Beach

Eurovision’s arrival in Burgas could give Sunny Beach an exciting early start to the 2027 season.

With its wide choice of hotels, restaurants, nightlife and entertainment, the resort could become a popular base for fans combining the contest with a seaside holiday. Nearby Nessebar, Pomorie and other coastal destinations may also benefit from the international attention.

The event could create new opportunities for hotels, restaurants, transport providers, tour operators and local attractions throughout the region. Millions of viewers will also see Bulgaria and its Black Sea coast showcased on one of the world’s biggest music stages.
